August 5th, 2009 - COLORADO BAGGAGE BACKPACK CHALLENGE
Denver, CO (August 5th, 2009) The Colorado Baggage store at FlatIron Crossing is challenging customers this month to fill a large Jansport backpack with school supplies to benefit Fish, Inc. and the Arapahoe House. For every donation that is made, Colorado Baggage will offer a 10% discount on their next purchase as a thank you. Colorado Baggage has been serving the Colorado Community since 1984 and wanted the opportunity to give back to a great cause.
FISH, Inc. of Broomfield is a non-profit 501(c)3 agency which provides emergency services to people living in the city/county of Broomfield. FISH provides 24 hour emergency services to residents through direct services, referrals to other agencies, and partnerships with a variety of community groups and organizations. Some examples of services available at FISH include food baskets and personal care items, rental and utility assistance, food outreach programs, holiday giving trees, and special projects such as school supply distributions.
Established in 1976, Arapahoe House is Colorado’s leading provider of substance abuse treatment and prevention services. Arapahoe House provides more than 22,000 episodes of service annually through programs at 12 facilities. From detoxification to outpatient and residential services, we help individuals and families recover from their addiction and find help, hope and healing.
The Colorado Baggage at FlatIron Crossing is located on the lower level of the shopping center next to Macy’s. The school supply drive will run through Monday, August 31st. Donations will be only accepted at the FlatIrons location. Donations include anything from folders and notebooks to backpacks or cash donations.

February 25, 2009 - BAGS 4 KIDS TO CREATE BAGS OF HOPE FOR FOSTER CHILDREN
Colorado Bag’n Baggage family of stores will spread some hope this spring by collecting gently used luggage in their stores throughout the month of April as part of their Bags 4 Kids Trade-in Event.
Every piece that is brought in will be donated to local foster care children near each store. As a thank you gift to our customers for donating their luggage, Colorado Bag’n Baggage will give a $20 gift certificate to be used on a future purchase.
Thousands of children are part of the foster care system across the United States. Many of them have nothing more than a garbage bag to put their belongings in as they move to a new home. On average, most foster children move three to four times.
Colorado Bag’n Baggage family of stores are located in ten states across the United States which include Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. The hope is to fill each of the thirty-three store windows with luggage that is donated. The luggage brought in will be distributed to foster care agencies in May which is National Foster Care month.
“It is our hope to brighten a foster child’s life by giving them a piece of luggage that they call their very own,” said Rachael Stiedemann, Marketing Manager of Colorado Bag’n Baggage. “It is our pleasure to give our customers a special savings discount for helping out such a worthy cause.”
Please contact, Rachael Stiedemann if your foster care organization is interested in being a recipient of the donated luggage. The organization must be located near one of the thirty-three stores to allow for pick-up or delivery in the month of May.
