In 1898 Paul Morszeck founded the Rimowa Company in Cologne Germany. In 1937 Richard Morszeck made his first flight on an all metal aircraft. Noticing how metal was grooved, he discovered that those grooves strengthened the metal skin of the plane. Using this technology, he produced the first metal suitcases!
